Lassie, whose real name was Pal and whose real sex was male, was the first top-dog at the box office since Rin-Tin-Tin graced movie screens. This was the last 'Lassie' film produced under the prestigious MGM banner and though considered one of their low-budget B's, is nevertheless a highly memorable family film.
