In a
small, dark side hallway in the main Post Office in St. Louis, Missouri,
this innocuous, 6x6 box is most likely the infamous Box 812, Saint
Louis, MO that each episode of Space Patrol told us to send our box
tops, Nestle's Can Lids, and 25¢ to!
The box, near the back of a small hallway off the main hall in the Saint
Louis Post Office, has had its number extended in the last fifty years,
but judging by the other boxes whose stickers have come off, underneath
that sticker is the original painted '812'.
How many
youngsters of the early 1950s had their letters pass through this box to
get a nifty Totem Head Mask or other Space Patrol item?
